This is My Story

I began working on computers when I was 15 years old.  In 2001, I enrolled in the MCSA path at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers.  While obtaining my certifications, I was hired by New Horizons to oversee all things technical at their Westbury and Commack, NY locations.  This is where I met my future business partner and moved on to form ComTek-NY, Inc. after learning the ropes at several of Long Island’s top rated consulting companies.

Operating ComTek-NY taught me many valuable lessons in life and business.  In addition to honing my technical abilities, I learned accounting, marketing, advertising, sales and customer service.  I enjoyed running my own business however, I was my own demise!  I often heard from many customers that I fixed everything too well.  That’s good for them but bad for me as I was never a pushy salesperson.  Goodbye ComTek-NY and hello corporate world.

After ComTek-NY, I bounced around trying to find the right job.  I worked for many consulting companies and as in-house IT for some larger corporations, all the while advancing my technical attributes to higher levels.  I’ve helped school districts, retail / wholesale, doctors, attorneys, accountants, mechanics, manufacturers, your neighbors and heck, maybe even you.  I love what I do.  It never feels like work.

I enjoy learning new things and have started teaching myself VB.NET.  This came to fruition as my current employer needed a program to generate check files for secure banking.  After a few days of research (YouTube / Google) and development, Pigno’s Posi-Pay was born.  The program allows a user to type in all the info that the bank needs and generates a formatted text file.  The file is uploaded by the user to the bank.  The bank parses the text file to validate checks.

This is my mission

My mission is simple. It is composed of 3 things:

High quality service – I bring with me many years of experience as both a consultant and as in-house, fully hands-on IT Ninja.  I’ve seen the grass from both sides of the fence.  Technology is technology and every problem has a solution.

Stupidly Affordable – I’ve worked for many consulting companies and while they claim to care about your systems you need to remember one thing…they are a business.  A business operates to make money.  You can thank Capitalism for that.  Why am I stupidly affordable? I love what I do and honestly, it never feels like I’m working when I’m fixing stuff.  I don’t want to be a millionaire…I just want to be able to provide for my family.

No Bull –   I’m not a salesperson.  I will never pressure anyone into getting something they don’t need or spending an obscene amount of money.  I will make recommendations and if there is a sense of urgency, you should listen and act on my advice.  If you don’t listen, it’s not my fault that your {insert your device here} is still broken…that’s on you.  Like I said, I’m good at fixing things.
